With prejudice.

Dear candidate:

Re: Law School Candidacy and Application

Thank you for your interest in the Legal International Evaluation Society Law School.

We have reviewed your candidacy thoroughly. Unfortunately, our admissibility committee did not retain your candidacy for the upcoming academic year. As you know, we receive several million candidates for each school year and, sadly, your's was not retained.

We very much regret this decision and hope that you will not take it too personally. If your parents are to be saddened by this news, you have our permission to advise them that you "came soooo close".

We wish to thank you for your time and interest and, especially, the $1,000 non refundable application fee (it was marked "nonrefundable" in tiny letters on the back of the application form. The fact that you didn't see it was actually one of the things the committee noticed. Hope this doesn't make you feel worse.)

Many of our professors are scheduled for biannual sabbaticals next school year and the money will come in handy to send them to "History of the Law" conferences in Johannesburg.

We recommend that you spend some time reviewing the material in the Duhaime.org  web site. We'd be happy to review your application again next year. Please do not forget the $1,000 application fee.

Alternatively, if you really want to just be in law school, we do have an opening on our janitorial staff.

Your friend in law,
