Duhaime's Legal Dictionary of Human SexualityThose components of the general Duhaime's Law Dictionary that are gender, romance or sexual-oriented. Duhaime's Legal Dictionary of Human Sexuality is dedicated to the memory of German lawyer Karl Ulrichs (1825-1895).

Adultery
Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and another person who is not their married spouse.

Berdache
A derogatory term used to refer to North American transvestites specifically or homosexuals generally.
Bestiality
A sexual connection between a human being and an animal.
Bisexual
Individuals who experience sexual attraction to males and females.
Buggery
Synonymous with sodomy and referring to 'unnatural' sex acts, including copulation, either between two persons of the same sex or between a person and an animal.
Exhibitionism
A sexual disorder in which a person is sexually aroused by exposing his genitals to unsuspecting others.
Feminism
A person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes.
Gay
A homosexual individual.
Gender
The social and cultural construction of what it means to be a man or a woman, including roles, expectations and behaviour; the association of an individual with being either a male or a female, or both or neither.
Homophobia
Latin: a fear of homosexuality.
Homosexuality
Sexual contact between two persons of the same sex.
Human Dignity
An individual or group's sense of self-respect and self-worth, physical and psychological integrity and empowerment.
Human Right
An individual's statutory right to equal treatment and free from discrimination prohibited by statute and which, generally, provides a civil remedy to provide compensation or to punish such discrimination when it is reported.
Incest
The crime of sexual contact with a blood relative usually including a parent, child, sibling, grandparent or grandchild.
Intersex
An individual with neither male or female standard sexual anatomy, by birth or surgery.
Love
An emotional attachment towards another evidenced by kindness, consideration, understanding, patience, sacrifice or sufferance, if necessary, and words and actions.

Latin: that horrible crime not to be named among Christians.
Pederasty
A sexual abuse crime wherein an adult male grooms and sexually assaults an adolescent male outside of his family.
Pedophile
A medical condition causing a sexual preference for young children.
Penile Plethysmograph
A law investigation device which purports to measures the reaction of a target's penis to visual stimuli.
Queer
Commonly, a synonym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex persons but also an umbrella term for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, transgender, intersexual or of any other non-heterosexual sexuality, sexual anatomy or gender identity.
Rape
Sex with a woman, other than the perpetrator's wife, without her consent.
Sadism
Sexual arousal in the infliction opf physical or mental cruelty.
Sex
The predominant sexual identity of an individual, as in male or female. Also refers to sexual intercourse.
Sexting
The sending of digital text messages containing suggestive, provocative, or explicit sexual photographs.
Sexual Abuse
The tort or crime of an assault of a sexual nature.
Sexual Assault
A sexual act upon or directed to another which is unwanted and not consented to by the other.
Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
The use of a child for the purposes of pornography.
Sexual Harassment
A term used in human rights legislation and referring primarily to harassment in employment situations, related to sex or gender, which detrimentally affects the working environment.
Sexual Orientation
An individual's preference in terms of sexual relationship with others - whether homosexual or heterosexual.
Slut-Shaming
The judgment objectifying and passed on the sexuality of woman, often of teenage years, that her choice of revealing or tight apparel is indicative of consent if not encouragement to sexual intimacy.
Sodomy
Synonymous with buggery and referring to unnatural sex acts, including copulation, either between two persons of the same sex or between a person and an animal (the latter act is known as bestiality).
Statutory Rape
A statutory definition of rape which allows for conviction regardless of the consent, such as with a minor.
Transsexual
An individual who, by surgery, has undergone a sex change operation (transsexual surgery).
Two-Spirited Person
The term used in North American native tradition to refer to an intersex individual.

A significant disturbance of sexual function where the object of the sexual energy is an animal.
