Ex Patriate Definition:

A person who has abandoned his or her country of origin and citizenship and has become a subject or citizen of another country.

Related Terms: Expatriation

The name given to an individual who has renounced his or her previous citizenship.

My neighbor recently gave up his American citizenship and became a Canadian citizen; he is thus an ex patriate of the United States of America.
