Homophobia Definition:

Latin: a fear of homosexuality.

In their Second Edition (2006) of Human Sexuality, Levay and Valente point out that homophobia means, literally, a fear of homosexuality and that, "it has come to be used for the entire spectrum of anti-gay altitudes and beliefs."
