Patentee

Patentee: a person to whom a patent has been granted; who appears on the official government registry of patent owners.

Patentee: a person to whom a patent has been granted; who appears on the official government registry of patent owners or, if the patent monopoly has been sold or handed through an estate, to that assign.

Canada's Patent Act: "patentee means the person for the time being entitled to the benefit of a patent".

In other legislation: Great Britain, the Rules of the Supreme Court (Amendment) 1995:

"Order 10 shall apply to petitions for revocation of a patent, but the address for service may be the address for service appearing in the register of patents whether or not the patentee is within the jurisdiction."
