Police Interrogation Definition:

Questioning put to an accused by the police with the purpose of eliciting a statement.

In State v Pittman, Justice Donald Corbin of the Supreme Court of Arkansas wrote that a:

"[P]olice interrogation (is) direct or indirect questioning put to the accused by the police with the purpose of eliciting a statement from him."
