A contest where prizes are awarded in a random draw.

In R v Stucky, Justice Gans wrote, in footnote 8:

"[A] sweepstakes is a contest where prizes are awarded in a random draw.  In Canada, all such contests must have an element of skill.  This requirement is usually satisfied with a mathematical skill-testing question, which must be correctly answered in order for the selected entrant to be eligible for a prize."
